We were engaged by Virgin Money to migrate their existing ColdFusion website from an externally hosted and managed platform to an in-house solution. Specific needs were to have full control over the website in-house in order to reduce ongoing update and maintenance costs, and to form a platform onto which to gradually migrate externally hosted online applications. We developed a clustered platform based on Open Source Java technologies incorporating a CMS (OpenCms) and online application framework - currently supporting over 60,000 page views per day.

The CMS gives full control to Virgin Money resources to freely manage their content with no reliance on external parties resulting in being able to rapidly maintain content and run new online promotional campaigns at will.

The development of a custom Java Spring based online application framework with associated 3rd party integration touch-points gave bespoke functionality as per exact requirements, and an ability to host new applications and migrate existing applications to reduce ongoing costs and give full control internally.

Subsequent developments have included the extension of the CMS to manage intranet and extranet solutions, several data capture and manipulation applications, an online payment gateway, a Google mashup, numerous online and email based promotional campaigns, and ongoing support and maintenance services.
